Are Men Hopeless?

So while the women are getting guidance left, right, and centre on how to act during their pregnancy, what to expect, and when to expect it, men are in some ways unsure of their position. Ok that's probably more to do with the fact that we can't be bothered to go out of their way to find out, or we just don't want to get in the way of their pregnant other half! I can tell you first hand that a pregnant woman is pretty intimidating to deal with!

Emotional Black holes:

A man's emotions are rarely shown, well not publically, and this is probably one of the mistakes that we make when it comes to our part in the pregnancy. After being told we're going to be Dad, we don't seem to show our excitement quite as much as the other half of our relationship - we are more concerned with budget and logistics of the baby. While this might wind certain people up, I'm sure we all know that is just what men are like, we're hopeless at showing people the emotions we really feel! If you are having trouble finding the emotional side of your man, sit him down and make him watch 7 pounds by Will smith, if he isn't moved by that film then he really does have a heart made of ice!

The Weight Issue:

Obviously there is another thing that us men fail to cope with, and that is the weight issue. Now in reality what is the best way to deal with this? Should we pussy foot around it and avoid the weight issue? Should we compliment it? Or should we try and convince our partner that there is NO weight issue?

How many times during our relationship have we failed to compliment our partners, or not responded correctly to the age old 'does my bum look big in this' question. So how on earth do we get it right during pregnancy? Yes, it would have to be said, men are hopeless when it comes to women and their weight, so getting it right during pregnancy is another one to add to the lack of common sense we sometimes suffer with.

Unthoughtful:

Carrying our baby for nine months probably doesn't help when us guys fail to understand our partner's emotions. So being a bit tactful would probably help us. What women on this planet wants to be told to 'get a grip' when she is crying at a terrible TV show? I don't think a single one when she's pregnant. Yet another case of a man being hopeless. We're not all that bad though are we, really?
