Eating Out With Little Ones
Tuesday 17th of September 2013 | Category: Opinion | Written by: Emma LanderI have just been out for tea with my husband and little girl (she is 2 and a half) and I HAD to get this off my chest.....
For starters (pardon the pun) why, why, why do they have to seat you near couples? I know sometimes it cannot be helped but I hate getting evils through our whole meal because some people have forgotten what it is like having young children.
Then they served my daughters meal on a plate that was so hot, even I couldn't pick it up. So I asked for a cold plate and it was as if I had asked for the waiter's kidney. Is it so hard to think oh they have a toddler, maybe they would burn their hand on a hot plate.
I'm sorry to moan but it was a so-called family friendly pub.
My daughter behaved impeccably (for once) and no peas on the floor. I have been known to get on my hands and knees myself and pick up after my daughter after particularly messy meals.
I believe children should be taken to restaurants from a young age so they can learn manners and so family times can include everyone.
After tonight's disaster however I think I will have second thoughts about thinking I am too tired to cook tea!!
